Emerald Belles

Emerald Belles were a dance group from Season 14 of America's Got Talent. They were eliminated in the Quarterfinals in the Dunkin' Save.

Background

The Emerald Belles Dance Team is a super-sized drill team from Texas with a long-standing tradition of excellence. One of the largest drill teams in the country, the team ranges anywhere from 80 to 100 girls yearly. Over the past 22 years, under the direction of Melissa Page, the team has won many state, national and international titles, and it has performed as the featured entertainment for Carnival and Royal Caribbean Cruise lines. In 2017, the Belles were featured on CMT's “Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team” as the "wow" top performance from college and high school teams. In 2018, the program was featured on the opening segment of NBC's Sunday Night Football.

Over the past 20 years, Mrs. Page has fostered an environment of positivity in the group. She believes in empowering the girls to become leaders, and she teaches them to embrace the differences among the team members. This power of positivity message has not only proven to be successful on the field but has also helped build an alumni network of over 10,000 women.

There are many dance forms featured on television today, but high kick is rarely represented. The Emerald Belles want to show the world their creativity through this traditional dance form. To win AGT would mean everything to them, and it would validate all of the hard work and dedication that they have all put into this team. It would also elevate the message to the world that school programs can be successful and are essential in fostering positivity and success for teenagers. [1]
