Sasha

Sasha (Japanese: サーシャ) is a Blue Moon CO and the older sister of Colin. She's normally ladylike, but becomes daring when she gets angry. Being the heiress to a vast fortune, she gets extra Funds from bases under her control. She has no weaknesses (or strengths, for that matter). She often watches over Colin, ensuring that his worry doesn't get too out of hand (but does come across as both domineering and heavy-handed with Colin). Also appears to have a thing for Jake in Dual Strike.

CO abilities

Sasha gains additional 100 Funds from each property under her control.

CO power (COP)

Market Crash - Reduces all enemy CO's Power Meter by approximately 10% for every 5000 War Funds she has and gets a 10% boost to attack/defense.

Super CO power (SCOP)

War Bonds - Turns 50% of the damage Sasha's units deal into War Funds, and gets a 10% boost to attack/defense.

Tag Breaks

Sasha has Tag Breaks with the following COs:

Tactics

In the Campaign Mode (both Normal and Hard), she is one of the best CO's to use since her CO Power can shut down enemy Tag Breaks by herself while your other CO's in the missions are free to use theirs. Eventually the enemy will be able to use their powers, but by then, the player will have gained a tactical advantage. In Tag Battles during campaign, the computer AI will always try to activate a Tag Break, meaning you can prevent the computer from using any of the CO Powers.

In a 1 vs. 1 battle, she is one of the most underestimated CO's in the game, although players still need to play cautiously. Many players will forget that she constantly produces an extra 100 funds per building and per day, being equivalent to Hachi on a day-to-day basis, a CO that is considered the best in the game. When having the same amount of buildings (with the exception that Hachi can buy units cheaper and CO Powers):

  • If both have 10 buildings, Sasha would gain 11000 and Hachi would gain 10000. If both players spend on 2 APCs, Sasha would still remain at 1000 funds (11000 - 5000 - 5000 = 1000). Same with Hachi (10000 - 4500 - 4500 = 1000).
  • If both have 20 buildings, Sasha would gain 22000 and Hachi would gain 20000. If both players spend on a 2 tanks and an artillery, Sasha would still remain at 2000 funds (22000 - 7000 - 7000 - 6000 = 2000). Same with Hachi (20000 - 6300 - 6300 - 5400 = 2000).

While not as efficient as Colin, the numbers still do not lie and can make a major impact in the early and mid run where capturing is necessary, plus she does not gain an attack penalty like Colin. When the numbers are left unchecked, it would be too late to recover and Sasha will likely be the victor. That extra need for a unit you can afford that the opposition cannot at that time puts pressure on opponents on whether or not to go on the offensive to cut supplies or go on the defense and rethink. A good idea for Sasha is to capture a good amount of mid-area cities as you can, while you can wait to capture your back-end cities at the right time; you don't want your opponent capturing cities past the battle line or else the funding significance during the long run won't matter.

Her COP, while at the cost of 2 stars, reduces the power of all of the enemy CO's meter. Reducing the CO's meter, when used right, can cripple a lot of strategies reliant on COP and SCOP. COP that drain or regain HP (Hawke, Drake, Olaf, Von Bolt, Kindle, Andy), and even movement COP (almost everybody else). If she is capable of getting 50000 funds, she can wipe an entire Power Meter. Be warned though that each time you use her COP, Sasha's bar cannot increase during this time. Additionally, Power Meter bar in general extends by 20% each time you use a COP, up to 280% on the 10th use and 200% after that, so it can't last forever if the battle takes too long, so opponents may be able to whip off a high cost COP or SCOP like Sami, Hawke, and Von Bolt. The best time to use this COP is after you conduct the battles (your opponent can still gain Power Meter after use), after you merged your units (if necessary), and BEFORE you do any purchasing (avoid having a weakened or useless effect).

Her SCOP is very situational. With the exception of standard +10% attack and defense, she does not gain any stat boosts at all. If you are going to activate this SCOP, you are going to have to deliver as much damage as possible to make it even worth it; if your opponent plays defensively with your bar being full, you may not be able to maximize the funds. If you are able to pull this off, you have essentially gained a financial advantage over your opponent. Her SCOP is best used in the following situations:

  • Against COs with 5 or less overall bars. Adder and Koal are good examples. Her COP won't have enough time to stall their short Power Meter.
  • Against COs who depend heavily on COP and not SCOP. Kindle is the big one here at 3 stars, while additionally trying to make you lose funds. Sasha's SCOP counters the lost funds.
  • Very late game where your opponent may have activated their COP or SCOP due to the COP/SCOP 20% car increases each time a COP/SCOP is used. During this time, your opponent is likely doing a lot of damage enough to increase your Power Meter.
  • At a critical time where you need to build that expensive-yet-important unit such as a Stealth.
  • If going for the Tag Break (See Below).

While Sasha can be good at the right hands, she struggles from the following map types:

  • Pre-deployed maps. The only thing she can do is spam COP just so that the opponent cannot use their COP or SCOP.
  • Small to mid-sized maps. Funding will not matter if the opponent pumps powerful units that the price difference isn't significant.
  • Maps with less cities. Having less cities will not make significant funding good enough.
  • Maps that give the opposition's CO a major advantage. Her 100/100 units won't do much when the opposition's boosted stats will make her struggle to destroy units.

In tag battles, she can shut down Tag Breaks almost entirely because her COP affects all enemies and not just 1. Tactics like the Earth and Sky (Sami and Eagle) won't work on Sasha. She was specifically designed to Tag with Colin. During the Tag break with Sasha and Colin, the stat power is increased to a massive 130%. Sasha’s power will allow you to gain lots of funds, which can then be used to greatly increase the firepower of your units during Colin’s power.
