“Lay Me Down” is a song recorded by Adele, taken from her third studio album, 25. It appears as the second bonus track on the Target and Japanese deluxe editions of the album. The song was written by Adele and Tobias Jesso Jr. and produced by Mark Ronson, with additional production from Lil Silva.
Background
“Lay Me Down” is one of two songs that Adele wrote with Tobias Jesso Jr. for 25, the other being “When We Were Young,” which she considers to be her favorite song she’s ever written.
During her “Up Close and Personal” interview with Julie James, Adele said Jesso had written most of the song by himself prior to her arrival at his friend’s house, where they were working:

On April 3, 2020, producer Mark Ronson shared a tribute to pianist Mike Longo, mentioning that he influenced Victor Axelrod, who played piano on the studio version of “Lay Me Down.” The video includes a previously unreleased snippet of Adele’s studio vocals from the song, with Axelrod’s piano-playing as the sole instrumentation, which Ronson called one of his favorite performances.[2]
